  What were your favorite assembly foods?

  so i'm young enough to not remember having hot prepared meals at assemblies, but heard all about it from my parents and the like.

  but what i do remember were all of the cold sandwiches and institutional snacks and soda.

  remember the food tickets we started to use?

  Yeah, I remember before the mid 90's rolled around, for I think about 3 or 4 years you never had to pay for the food, it was on contribution basis, before they scrapped food around '95 or something like that. Anyway, I remember the mornings, especially around 11 or so, I could hardly wait for one of those subs with the Italian dressing, one of those partially frozen puddings, a danish & pop.

  I remember at a few circuit assemblies, a few sisters brought some of the most awesome apple, cherrie and lemon pies. I get really sad thinking back to those days for some reason.

  Is it the GB's plan to NOT explain the nu FDS lite?

  perhaps i am overthinking this.......but i may have come to the conclusion that the gb's refusal to address and explain in detail all of the changes mentioned at the 2012 annual meeting is in and of itself.....their final explanation.

  from what i have gathered by speaking discreetly with those that are still "in" but on the fringe.......the information given at the 2012 meeting meant practically nothing to most jws.

  in fact.....most are still completely unaware of the changes.

  Clifford Olsen dies.

  this monster who molested then killed 11 children in the early 80's died today.

  something with the jw mindset which has always confused me is with the resurrection.

  so they claim that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous to a resurrection of judgement.

  This monster who molested then killed 11 children in the early 80's died today. Something with the JW mindset which has always confused me is with the resurrection. So they claim that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous to a resurrection of judgement. Well, something which I could never get my head around is that when the big 'A' comes, God is going to destroy all non JW's. Not to mention the destruction of all the charitable people earthwide, all the doctors, people who give to the poor, etc,etc the list goes on and on.

  Anyway, all the evil people like Clifford Olsen, the 9/11 terrorists, maybe Hitler, bin Laden like these people might just be resurrected. From the early age of just 6 years-old, this mindset has always confused me.

  i just received an email from the ex-jw meetup group coordinator in phoenix.

  she stated that the jws are putting credit donation machines at the assembly halls.

  is this true?

  Nah, I just don't believe this ATM, credit card donation arrangement at assembly halls. This must be some kind of joke, right?? Truly, this can't be serious. This just doesn't seem kingdom hall/assembly hall like, is it?

  If this is true about credit card machines in kingdom halls comes to fruition, if it is not a major tipping point for the average doubting J-dub, I don't know what else will.

  Does anyone know about the 2010 songbook?

  i only recently found out that there was a new songbook 'released' last year.

  i came in under the old pink flexi-cover one.

  then in 1984 that oversized 225 song brown one came out.

  yeah, I've heard somewhere too that one of the guys who made up this song book DA'd himself around the time just before or after it was released. it was probably on here that i heard that. that is quite interesting.
